Shelf Ice Brewfest is an extreme winter beer festival in northwest Indiana held in the heart of the Uptown Arts District in Michigan City, Indiana. GBCo. will join over 30 breweries at this fundraiser for the Michigan City Mainstreet Association, a non-profit organization focused on rejuvenating downtown Michigan City.

Support early childhood education by purchasing a ticket to the Campus Center for Young Children’s farm to table fundraiser. The event begins with a social hour featuring light hors d’oeuvres followed by a three course meal featuring Goshen Brewing Company beer and local meats and produce prepared by Bread and Chocolate. The evening includes live music performed by local musicians and a small silent auction. All proceeds directly benefit the CCYC Children’s Scholarship Fund which provides tuition assistance to families.

Crank up your race season by challenging yourself to an Open Class Dirt Road Grinder of 32 or 22 miles on a roller coaster race course. Join us on some of southwest Michigan’s most challenging dirt roads during the spring thaw, then stick around for the post race celebration with GBCo. beer, music, and food!

Check out the 16th annual Empty Bowl Project by the Goshen Clay Artists Guild, just down the street from the brewery! Nothing says “community” like coming together for a great cause. For $15 you will be able to pick your own handmade bowl filled with your choice of soup, including some made by our own GBCo. chefs! Proceeds go to assisting homeless families in Elkhart County.

Enjoy some GBCo. beer at the Fat & Skinny Tire Fest, a growing celebration of cycling, health and wellness and community! Located on the eastern shore of Winona Lake in the culturally-rich Village at Winona, the Fat & Skinny Tire Fest raises awareness for cycling in Kosciusko County every May during National Bike Month, while kicking off a full spring, summer and fall of events for the community through KCV Cycling. The festival has grown to over 1500 participants and nearly 5000 spectators throughout the weekend. With 2-1/2 days full of cycling activities, food, and entertainment there is something for everyone during this “all-size-tires shindig.”

During Goshen’s June First Friday, bid on a rain barrel, sculpture, or rain garden, each created by a local artist. GBCo.’s sponsored barrel was designed and painted by the talented Abby Graber and features some pretty sweet hops! Proceeds benefit the Elkhart River Restoration Association and will support the dredging of the Goshen Dam pond.

Bike over to TrailsFest and grab a GBCo. beer, hear music from The Tumbleweed Jumpers, and support the Trails of Middlebury. There’s also a bounce house, free kids’ bike checks and a bicycle giveaway from Pumpkinvine Cyclery and lots of good food!

Fables needs $90,000 to open our doors. So far they have secured $50,000 and are asking you to help them raise the remaining $40,000. These funds will go towards start-up costs including, signage, marketing (materials and online), renovations, supplies, event seed money, and most of all, inventory and merchandise. Some of the new inventory they are excited to offer includes New York Times Best Sellers, new children’s books, stationery, literary gifts and accessories, and a larger Spanish Language section for both children and adults.
Even if they don’t reach their goal, any funds raised will still go towards start-up costs. Not meeting the goal means they may not have as big of inventory as originally planned, or they may need to take on a larger debt than planned. Win or lose, they’re opening, and you can plan on enjoying Goshen’s truly independent bookshop late summer 2019! Whether you support at the $10 level or the $10,000 level, each pledge helps ensure the success of this venture.
